Woman to Woman Conference Parameters

Our Woman to Woman Conference is a unique weekend of fellowship and “bridging the gap” between AA and Al-Anon women produced by volunteer members of each program. The conference is an immersive weekend in a rustic resort location where renewal, rest, and rekindling/making new friendships are the goals. We focus on the issues facing women and evenings in the central Great Room are casual. Many women use this weekend each year to put aside the day-to-day struggles and rejuvenate their AA or Al-Anon programs in a mountain setting and among friends, old and new.

For over 30 years, our mountain setting at Trail West, a drug and alcohol free facility, has been the perfect location to achieve these goals.

We have been asked, over the years, if any of the following are allowed. Through the group conscience process, we concluded that none of the following are allowed. As a result of these considerations, the Planning Committee, established the following constraints noting our reasoning for each decision:

  • Recreational drugs or alcohol – One reason we chose a Young Life camp location for our weekend was to have a drug and alcohol free location in support of our programs.

  • RVs or campers – We are situated on the side of a mountain with limited vehicle parking. We will always find parking for registrants’ cars but have no room or hook-ups for larger vehicles.

  • Children – Many of our women use the weekend as a respite from parenting. We honor the expectation of a quiet weekend of self-care by asking you to leave children behind.

  • Women Only – Our conference focuses on the issues facing women. Evenings in the central Great Room are casual. Many attendees use this weekend as a break from family responsibilities and an opportunity to focus on themselves.

We recognize that the language around gender continues to evolve, and that not everyone has the same ideas about what the terms mean. We apologize for any stumbles we may make and hope that love and tolerance will remain the code for everyone.

  • Off-site housing or day registrations – We secure the entire facility for our conference. Pricing, established with the Young Life association who owns and manages the facility, is all-inclusive to cover lodging, meals, speakers, and other conference expenses. We do not set pricing for each individual element or day of the conference.

  • Pets – Some of our breakout meeting rooms are small with women sitting shoulder to shoulder. We recognize that some women have a fear of animals and others have allergies. We ask that you leave your pets at home.

Consideration will be given to registered service animals on a case by case basis.
